Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was seven. They lived in a place without electric power. Ryder was an avid bookworm and would spend her days studying books since there was no TV. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder joined the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Lucas was let go in 1986. Ryder, who was only 15, landed an acting job as a lead actress. Ryder was bullied throughout her time in high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actress would make a difference. Sadly, this didn't occur. But she pushed on with her dreams. In 1988, she received her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue playing characters that made a splash in several movies. In 1993, Ryder was nominated two times for Academy Awards.
